Episode #7 : The Tough Conversations

The good shit that could come out of that hard conversation is absolutely amazing. And we don’t find out because we have a fear of pressing into that uncomfortableness.
— Jon

Tough conversations - like all hard things, they benefit you in the long run.

Jon says he has no regrets about his relationship with his mom (who died a few years ago) due to the many real, raw conversations they shared.

Wait, a sec. Doesn’t death and regrets go hand in hand?

Maybe not.

If we are willing and able to intentionally talk about life and regret and wishes and love, and as Jon says ‘clear all that %$#! out of the way, you just may be able to grieve better. ‘

What if it’s too late? What if your loved one is gone.

Jon shares: “I had some stuff with him (my Dad), we did not have the best relationship. I remember thinking what if it was me who died first and I was able to come back to him and whisper in his ear? I'd be telling him it's OK.”

Couldn’t we all give ourselves that kind of grace?
